So it looks like out of the nearly 2000 pitchwars entries, and 108 mentors (only 6 that I could submit to), I'm not among the 5.5% who is chosen. I am not deterred. I started a new round of revisions after the second day anyway, just in case, but I am feeling a bit boggled. I've restarted this first chapter now, I don't know... eight times? The rest of the manuscript has had two major revisions. I think I need to put it down for a while to regain the spark I thought it had. With each revision I feel like I'm snuffing out a spark, and that is not a good feeling. Perhaps if I come back to it in a week I'll feel differently.
Tonight is "date night" and I'm making Benghan Bartha, which is basically curried eggplant. Our eggplant just gave us six, with about 20 coming on, so we've got to get to devouring the stuff. Luckily we're not sick of it yet. When that happens, I might as well give it to the chickens 'cause the family won't eat it.
I'm excited that the USA Women's Gymnastics team won gold again, but I'm not surprised. I predict we'll be winning gold for many more Olympics to come. I'm only slightly surprised that the Romanian team looks truly awful this year. i mean, I don't even think they made it to the team finals. That makes me a little sad!
